1. Why do we need to combine drugs?
When two drugs are combined, 3 different results are produced, which are synergism, summation and antagonism. The so-called drug synergy, is the total drug effect of the two drugs combined to enhance, that is, 1 + 1 > 2, which is also to achieve the purpose of the combination of drugs.
2. How to use Colistin sulfate synergistically in chicken farm?
Three kinds of combination, doubling the efficacy
(1) Colistin sulfate + florfenicol
Colistin sulfate increases the permeability of the cell membrane, which helps florfenicol enter the bacterial cells and further block the synthesis of bacterial proteins, and the combination of the two drugs can enhance the bactericidal effect and expand the antibacterial spectrum, i.e. 1+1>2.
It has doubled the therapeutic effect on intestinal bacterial infections caused by E. coli, Salmonella, Shigella, Clostridium perfringens, necrotizing enteritis and overfeeding, especially on intestinal bacteria.
(2) Colistin sulfate + Amoxicillin
The combination of amoxicillin and Colistin sulfate, which belong to the reproduction period bactericide (Class I) and stationary period bactericide (Class II) respectively, not only reduces the generation of drug resistance, but also improves the bactericidal effect, i.e. 1+1>2. The therapeutic effect is doubled for the intestinal bacterial mixed infections such as chicken dysentery and enteritis caused by E. coli, Salmonella and Bacillus dysenteriae.
(3) Colistin sulfate + Neomycin sulfate
Colistin sulfate increases the permeability of cell membrane, which helps Colistin sulfate to enter the bacterial cells and further block the synthesis of bacterial protein.
It has good effect effect on persistent diarrhea, enterotoxemia and overfeeding caused by E. coli, Salmonella and Clostridium perfringens in chickens.
In general, the combined use of drugs is an important means to improve the level of drug therapy, mastering the synergistic drug combination can give full play to drug efficacy, reduce drug toxic side effects, reduce.
